Describe your artistic style in three words.
Organic. Contemporary. Abstract.

What's inspiring you right now?
Texas State Parks and Wildlife! During the pandemic I've been spending a lot of time deeply immersed in nature. Also, researching indigenous methods for making pottery has been enlightening.

What do you do when you're feeling uninspired?
Spend more time with women. Exercise. Travel. Visit a museum. The poetry of Wallace Stevens.

Tell us something unique about your process.
I often produce sculpture in a flow-state, which requires me to reverse engineer the work upon completion to see how I've done it.

What advice do you have for other artists?
Obstinate rigor.

Anything else you’d like to share?
They say it's "who you know," and they're right.

I've lived all over Texas and New Mexico, working as a travel writer, photographer, educator and now full-time sculptor for the last three years. My studio practice is energized by my sense of place, and the natural connection that I have with the Texas Hill Country.
